I'm Iryna Shaiashnikova, an integrative & trauma-informed therapist and NCPS accredited counsellor. I hold a Bachelor's Honours in Practical Psychology and an MSc in Counselling, with ongoing professional development in evidence-based trauma and integrative practice.

I work with institutional trauma, displacement, and moral injury. I also help people navigate anxiety, depression, and major life transitions. My approach is evidence-based and practical—combining psychoeducation (understanding what's happening), practical tools (cognitive restructuring, grounding, breathing, visualisation ets.), and emotional processing (making sense of difficult experiences).

The goal isn't abstract "healing." It's helping you function better, understand yourself more clearly, and move forward with more agency in your own life.

I trained in both Ukrainian and British therapeutic frameworks, which gives me deep understanding of working with refugees, asylum seekers, survivors of domestic violence, and anyone experiencing displacement or cultural transition. I bring particular expertise to institutional and moral trauma—experiences where systems meant to protect have caused harm instead.

I work collaboratively, at a pace that feels right for you. Some clients need practical tools for specific challenges; others need space to explore deeper patterns. Both are valid. Your needs determine our direction. I offer sessions in English, Ukrainian, and Russian. I'm based in Lake District and work with clients online across the UK.

Whether you're facing anxiety, relationship difficulties, bereavement, or the impact of unsafe systems, I provide a space where you can be understood and where practical change is possible.
